JAMMU, Dec 14: Activists of Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit here today staged a protest demonstration under the leadership of their president, Manish Sahni demanding Statehood restoration for J&K.
The protesters were holding placards with slogans in favour of their demands and they had black bands on their heads.
Addressing the protesters, Sahni questioned the intention of Central Government regarding restoration of Statehood to J&K.
He said that for the last five and a half years, people are being given false assurances on Statehood restoration.
“While the government approved One Country One Election and passed Disaster Management (Amendment) Act, there was no discussion inside or outside the Parliament to restore Statehood to J&K,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained.
He claimed BJP’s indifferent attitude towards J&K responsible for public sufferings.
Sunny Kant Chib, chairman Human Right Council J&K; Vikas Bakshi, Jai Bharti, Balwant Singh, Raj Singh, Rajesh Jandial, Geeta Lakhotra, Rohan Malwal, Dimple, Rajjat, Swarn Veer Singh, Zakir Hussain, Khalid, Vijay Kumar and many others were also present in the protest.
