Shiv Sena protests against installation of Smart Meters

JAMMU, Mar 6: Shiv Sena J&K here today staged a protest demonstration against the installation of smart meters by J&K State Power Development Corporation in the Union Territory.
The protest was led by Manish Sahni, J&K Shiv Sena president wherein the protesters raised slogans against installation of smart meters.
Speaking on the occasion Sahni said that J&K itself is capable enough to provide electricity for other states after meeting domestic needs.
He flayed the attempt by J&K government to sell electricity at higher prices by endorsing privatization of electricity and installation of smart meters in J&K.
“Despite having the immense water resources, water bills are also being send to the public for the last few years,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained demanding free electricity and water in J&K.
He said that in favour of their demands, Shiv Sena has launched e-campaign in entire J&K on social media under the name ‘Free Bijli Pani Hamara Haq’ and appealed public to make the campaign a success.
Meenakshi Chibber, Vikas Bakshi, G.I Singh, Sandeep Bhagat, Harsh Gupta, Raj Singh, Bhuri Singh, Geeta Lakhotra, Raj Kumari, Vikal Abrol, Bhuri Singh and others were also present in the protest.
