JAMMU, July 25: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit leaders expressed serious concern over the increasing incidents of theft and other crimes disturbing peaceful atmosphere of the city of temples, here today.
They expressed their concern during a special programme titled ‘Surakshit Jammu’ organized today by the party at its UT office to deliberate on the significant issues related to safety and security of Jammu people. “Outsiders have been allowed to camp in Jammu and its outskirts especially in slums without conducting their police verification is the main reason for the present dismal crime situation in the Jammu,” alleged Shiv Sena president Manish Sahni.
He emphasized upon the dire need for conducting thorough police verification of strangers and outsiders camping in Jammu, adding that outsiders without any details, can easily escape from here after committing any crime. He lamented that the people of Jammu are still paying the price for settling the Rohingyas, here.
He appealed the Police Authorities to launch a massive campaign to conduct the verification of the antecedents of each and every outsider camping in the city and its outskirts, whereas president women’s wing Meenakshi Chhibber pointed out that dozens of slum areas in Trikuta Nagar, Chhani Himmat and Roop Nagar where outsiders were living in clusters and have been working in vegetable and fruit market sans verification.
Harsh Kumar Gupta, Vikas Dewan, Geeta Lakhotra, Yashpal Khajuria, Naresh Bakshi, Rakesh Handa and Dimple Surjeet Kumar were also present during the event.
