JAMMU, Oct 4: On arrival of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in J&K, the activists of Shiv Sena J&K unit here today staged a protest demonstration holding Tricolor to draw the attention of Shah towards his promise of restoration of Statehood to J&K.
The protesters also demanded special status for J&K under Section 371.
The protest was led by Manish Sahni, J&K Shiv Sena chief and the protesters raised slogans in support of their demands.
Sahni said that for the last three years, neither the people of J&K have got any benefit of the Union Territory nor the status of the State has been restored.
“With abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, the promises of development, employment along with protection of our cultural identity and rights of the locals are getting razed,” he maintained claiming: “It is our right that on the lines of northeast and other border states of the country, J&K should also be given privileges under Section 371.”
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi, vice president, Balwant Singh and others were also present in the protest.
