JAMMU, Aug 31: Shiv Sena Bal Thackeray today demanded that a Shrine Board be constituted to manage the affairs of Mata Machail Temple.
While addressing a press conference, Shiv Sena president, Dimpy Kohli said working president, Ashwani Gupta, said they in strongest words condemn the attack on the yatries of Mata Machail and demand that those involved in the attack be arrested and punished as per the law of land.
Dimpy Kohli said that Shiv Sena will write to Governor to take over the Mata Machail Temple and form a board for the managing the affairs of the temple as thousands of devotees visit the temple every year and offer huge donation in form of money.
He further added that Shiv Sena will start an agitation if the Government does not take the temple in its control and make a Shrine Board for it. “The Mata Machail Temple belongs to public and cannot be property of a particular person or family. We want to know where the offering (huge money) goes”, he added.
Ashwani Gupta said that the Shiv Sena demand an enquiry into the whole matter. “It is matter of great concern that the pilgrims from Bhaderwah and Jammu were attacked by the locals and the police did not act. Some where it seems that police deliberately let it happened and therefore the action should be taken against the concerned Deputy Commissioner as well as the Senior Superintendent of Police, who failed to perform their duties properly”, he added.
