JAMMU, Feb 23: Shiv Sena Bala Sahab Thackeray J&K Unit has expressed resentment over the plan of Government to run heritage train from Bikram Chowk to Suchetgarh via R.S Pura.
Speaking at a function in R.S Pura, Manish Sahni, J&K Shiv Sena president said instead of running mini-train the Government should construct a Railway Museum at R.S Pura which would give fillip to the border tourism in Jammu and attract Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
He also said that history of the train between Jammu and Sialkot before partition could not be revived at the cost of rendering thousands of people homeless.
The Shiv Sena leader said, since the rail link connects with Pakistan, they do not want any link, connection with the neighboring nation as it has been killing our soldiers and damaging livestock from time to time by unprovoked ceasefire violations.
On this occasion R.S Pura unit of Shiv Sena was also reconstituted by appointing dozens of people who joined the party today.
A handout stated that Balveer Singh has been appointed as Shiv Sena president; Tarsem Lal, vice president; Bhajan Lal, secretary; Meena Kumari, vice president Women Wing; Sudesh Kumari, secretary; Parsano Devi, secretary; Rajat Lahoria, chairman Youth Wing and Dimple, secretary.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; Geeta Lakhotra & Sukhvinder Kour, secretary Women Wing; Praveen Gupta, secretary, Rajesh Handa and Sushil Kumar were also present on this occasion.
