Shiv Sena demands Assembly polls with ballot papers

JAMMU, Mar 10: Activists of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit here today staged a protest demonstration demanding ‘restoration of democracy’ in J&K by holding first assembly elections in the newly formed Union Territory with ballot papers.
Led by their J&K president, Manish Sahni, the Shiv Sena activists during the protest held placards with ‘early assembly elections’ and ‘use ballot paper instead of EVM’ written over them.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahni urge upon PM Modi for early restoration of democratic process in J&K.
“As elections are being organized in other parts of the country, there is no reason that J&K people should be excluded from the same,” he said adding that government’s core objective should be to restore democracy and hold elections at the earliest.
Talking about Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra, Sahni said that the Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray, is likely to introduce the bill to conduct elections with ballot papers.
President women wing, Meenakshi Chhibber, chairman Rakesh Gupta, general secretary Vikas Bakshi, vice president, Sanjeev Kohli and Vikas Dewan, secretary, Balwant Singh, women secretary, Geeta Lakhotra, Binny Mahajan, president youth Jammu, Bhuri Singh, president Reasi, Balveer Singh, Pradhan R.S Pura, Manish Kumar Pradhan, Vijaypur, Praveen Kumar, Pradhan Arnea, Raj Pal, Tarsem Lal, Rakesh Chaudhary, Shubhav Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Surendra Sharma, Meena Kumari, Sudesh Kumari, Parsano Devi, Preity Devi, Ashok Kumar, Dimple and others were also present in the protest.
