JAMMU, Nov 30: Shiv Sena, Jammu and Kashmir unit has accused the Central Government for step motherly treatment with J&K and asked it to put a complete full stop to this discrimination and negative attitude towards the demands of the people of the UT.
Jammu and Kashmir unit welcomed the positive attitude of the Center towards all the demands including statehoodreservation in jobs for  Leh-Ladakh and the beginning of the round of talks by the Home Ministry.
Addressing a press conference at the Party’s central office, here today, State president of the Party Manish Sahni said that the Central Government had promised the country and the people of Jammu and Kashmir a united (Akhand), terrorism-free J&K with the retrieval of PoJK.
Sahni said the second term of the BJP Government at the Centre is about to end but PoJK still remains under the control of Pakistan. He said those claiming united Jammu and Kashmir, four and a half years ago on 5 August 2019, separated Ladakh from J&K and divided it into two union territories.
“Conspiracies are being hatched to destroy our cultural identity and participation of non-local people in local business, employment and educational institutions is increasing day by day,” he asserted.
He demanded the Modi Government at the Center to give J&K protection of its cultural identity under Article 371, privileges of local reservation in jobs and educational institutions, early democratic process and restoration of statehood.
Sahni said that if positive signals are not received from the Central Government on these demands, then Shiv Sena will start a mass movement with the cooperation of all opposition parties and the public.
