Shiv Kumar re-elected INTUC chief for J&K UT

JAMMU, Mar 20: Veteran Trade Union leader, Shiv Kumar Sharma has been re-elected unopposed as president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Jammu and Kashmir (UT) unit.
The election was held under the supervision of Dr Subhash Sharma, National secretary INTUC from New Delhi. It was held at Trikuta Palace, in Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu today.
The delegates from various affiliated Unions/Associations took part in the election in which Shiv Kumar Sharma was declared re-elected unopposed. 62 registered, affiliated unions and more than 200 delegates participated in the process.
Hari Singh of Power Grid, Nazir Ahmed (Auto Union head) proposed the name of Shiv Kumar Sharma  which was seconded by Faiz Akbar Chouhan  (WWEA).
Almost all delegates participating in the process supported the proposal of his name for the post of President of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC)- J&K (UT) Unit.
The result was officially declared by Central observer Dr Subash Sharma, National senior secretary, INTUC.
Sharma later extended gratitude to Dr Subash Sharma, Central observer for smooth conduct of election process holding high the tradition of the organization. The Central observer dissolved the existing body of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC)- J&K (UT) Unit and authorized the newly elected president to form the new body of INTUC-J&K (UT) Unit.
Addressing the leaders and workers  Sharma said he is thankful to the delegates and workers of the fraternity and praised them for their enthusiasm and dedication shown by them during the process. He assured the workers belonging to the various fields/sectors to continue the fight for their legitimate rights. Sharma appealed to the J&K Government to regularize all the daily wagers and implement Minimum Wages Act in J&K.
