Shavan reviews settlement, revenue works in Udhampur

JAMMU, Oct 5: Regional Director Survey and Land Records (Ex-Officio Settlement Officer) Udhampur Rajesh Kumar Shavan today took the review of settlement and revenue work in the district.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Sub-Divisional Magistrates and all Tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars of the district.
The progress regarding attestation of mutations, preparation of Jamabandis and evictions on the State, Shamlat and Kahcharai land was discussed. ACR Subash Dogra, who is also ASO (HQ) Udhampur gave brief resume of the work done by the Revenue Department.
While asking the revenue officers to work with devotion/dedication for implementation of land laws, the Regional Director asked them to monitor the functioning of Patwaries/GQs on regular basis and have frequent interactions with the land owners.
It was informed that the work of scanning/digitization of land records is already in progress and almost 80% record of Udhampur district has been scanned which was lying in the Central Record Room Jammu and now only record of tehsil and District Record Room along with records lying with the Patwaries has been left for scanning.
Shavan exhorted the officers to enhance the field visit so that the conduct of Girdawari is also supervised by them.
In order to sensitize the officers regarding the NLRMP, the Senior Manager Ram Tech Company Dr R K Singh Rana gave the brief power point presentation and informed that six primary and 45 secondary ground points have already been fixed in the district.
The Regional Director fixed the target of Jamabandis preparation and expected that the same will be achieved by concerned Revenue Officers by next meeting.
