Shastri urges for release of pending DA arrears

JAMMU, Aug 9: Continuing to highlight the long pending demands of employees of the State Government, pensioners, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today urged upon the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to intervene personally in releasing 6% DA due from January last in favour of State Government employees and pensioners at next meeting of State Cabinet.
Shastri said that as another installment of 7% DA has also become due to both Central and State Government employees and pensioners which ultimately pile up the arrears burdening further State exchequer of the State Government.
Addressing a rally of NMC activists here, Shastri said that the prices of all essential commodities have gone manifold and the release of pending installment of 6% DA has become more necessary adding that the Budget in provision for this purpose has already been made in the year 2015-16 Budget, so there should be no hitch for the State Government in releasing it. More so when almost all State Governments of the country except J&K has already released this installment to their employees and pensioners since long, as a matter of goodwill gesture, an early release of DA installment could get sigh of relief for salaried class and pensioners also.
Other demands highlighted by him include pension benefits to the employees of PSUs, regularizing the service motivators working in watershed project at Akhnoor, besides releasing their salaries, release of all pending dues of daily rated workers working in PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control, PDD, PHE and others of 180 daily wagers of RDD and enhancement of wages of daily wager from Rs 4000 to Rs 10,000 per month, besides enhancing medical allowances to Rs 1000 per month include Jammu city  in the list of hundred smart cities, creation of separate wage head in each department of the State Government for regularly disbursement of wages and strictly enforcement of CP funds deduction scheme in all departments.
