JAMMU, Nov 19: Urging Prime Minister’s, Union Home Minister’s and Union Finance Minister’s to take steps for immediate acceptance of recommendations of Lavasa Committee on removal of pay anomalies through different levels of employees of GPD cadre along with recommendations for enhancement of minimum pension/pay from Rs.18000/- to Rs. 21,000, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today demanded immediate implementation and ratification of the same in the upcoming cabinet meeting to be chaired by the Prime Minister NarendraModi.
In a statement issued here, Shastri said “Since the report is pending for want of decision, it is heartening that Prime Minister showed concern for lowest category of workforce who are already reeling under the burden of increased cost of living.,”
Shastri while addressing a well attended NMC workers’ meet at Gandhi Nagar lauded PM’s decision making capabilities. He hoped that the Prime Minister like earlier occasions will walk the talk on this issue also-a cause close to his heart.
Deliberating on the issue of regularization of daily rated workers working in the various departments of Jammu and Kashmir UT who have been showered empty promises by the previous regimes, Shastri also appealed to newly appointed Lt. Governor G. C. Murmu to address and ameliorate the pathetic condition of these daily rated workers who incidentally have been denied salaries for over many years now.
