JAMMU, June 9: Subash Shastri, president, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) appealed to the Chief Minister to regularize the services of 61,000 daily rated employees working in the various departments of the State Government so that confusion and uncertainty prevailing in the minds of the aspirants is put to rest.
Talking to reporters, Shastri lauded the recent statement of the State Finance Minister where he has described the issue of regularization of these daily wagers as a social issue and hoped that it should get resolved a span of six months adding that this human and consideration statement of Finance Minister as very relevant and envisages bright future for the daily rated workers.
Pleading the cause of daily rated workers, Shastri urged Chief Minister and Finance Minister that till these daily rated workers are regularized, a separate wage head in each department be created. He also demanded for immediate announcing of special package of Rs 2000 crore to J&K Government to meet expenditure on account of regularization of daily rated workers.
