JAMMU, Jan 9: J&K Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) here today launched a signature campaign demanding implementation of report no. 183 of Joint Parliamentary Committee of Home Affairs wherein Rs. 30 lakh ex-gratia relief for each displaced family and reservation for their wards in Government jobs and professional intuitions along with de-freezing of eight assembly seats for them have been recommended.
JKSAC president, Gurdev Singh along with Dwarka Nath Khajuria and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Gurdev Singh said the campaign is being done to aware PoK displaced people of 1947 regarding their legitimate rehabilitation which is still incomplete and insufficient even after seven decades.
Singh also said that this will also apprise the President of India; Prime Minister, Narendra Modi; Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and others about injustice suffered by DPs for such a long time.
He claimed that the legitimate and genuine rehabilitation issues of DPs was never highlighted and projected by any dispensation or any political party instead these people were politically exploited and cheated.
Singh said that the administration at the behest of the political parties in power was misinformed and misguided regarding the legitimate resolution of DPs’ issues.
He said they target over 3 lakh signatures of DPs during the campaign which will be submitted along with a detail memorandum to the President, Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and others at the helm.
