JAMMU, Apr 16: In order to cope up with the basic necessities of the public, BJP MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) laid foundation stone of Municipal Toilet Complex-cum-Sanitation Office at Devi Chand Municipal Park in Rehari Colony area of Jammu West.
He was accompanied by JMC Commissioner, Soujanya Sharma. While speaking on the occasion, the MLA termed the step as an initiative to endorse Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’.
After the program, the MLA and Commissioner along with JMC officials toured the area and saw the requirements of maintenance of lanes and drains in the area.
In a press statement issued, Sat Sharma (CA) said that it was a long pending demand of the residents of the area as there was no proper Toilet complex and a sanitation office which should have been made available to public a long time ago.
He said that everyone should adopt cleanliness level and it is imperative that people should contribute collectively in making the country clean of solid waste beside many ills of the society.
Lauding the role of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), the MLA said that the Corporation was making best possible efforts to maintain cleanliness in the city of temples. He called upon the people to protect public property in their respective areas, adding that these assets are meant for their convenience and need to be protected.
Soujanya Sharma stressed upon using these services in a manner so that these could be used for a longer duration of time. He stated that making judicious use of such things in the area will not only keep the vicinity clean but will also help in keeping away filth and unhygienic things from the surroundings.
Sanitation Inspector, Dr Jaffer and Mandal presidents, BJP, Praduman Singh and Ayodhya Gupta, were also present.
