Hundreds throng shrines of Goddess

JAMMU, July 16: On the auspicious occasion of Hara- Navmi the Jayanti of Goddess Sharika an impressive religious function was organised by Kashmiri Pandit community at the sacred Shrine of Chakreshwari, Hariprabhat, in Down Town, Srinagar.
The impressive religious function was organised by the Trust of Shree Shree Sharika Chakreshwari Sanstha Hari Prabhat Chakreshwar under the chairmanship of Ranjeet Gurkha its president.
The religious function started with the traditional Puja and ceremonial Abhishek of Swyambhu Shree Chakra under the guidance of Shree Jai Krishan Khar an ardent devotee of Chakrashwari Hari Prabhat, Srinagar and religious scholar. Bhajan Kirtan was also performed by the participant devotees on the auspicious occasion.
Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of J&K as well as country participated in the celebrations and paid obeisance to Goddess who is the presiding deity of Kashmiri Hindus.
After the traditional Puja of Shree chakra Prasad was also served to all the devotees.
Among the various other dignitaries included Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary of UT of J&K attended the programme. The ceremonial flag of Mata Chakreshwari was hoisted by him.
Dedicated team of SSCS under the leadership of its president Ranjeet Gurkha managed the function with full enthusiasm and religious commitment.
The dedicated team of Sanstha offered a number of services viz cleaning and offering Sindoor (Vermilion) to the ages old Swyambhu Shree Chakra at the shrine.
On this sacred occasion a similar function was organised by the same Trust at Jammu. A large number of devotees paid their obeisance to mother Goddess Sharika at the shrine of Sharika Chakreshwari Hari Prabhat Dhok Paloura here. A completely traditional Puja of Shree Chakra was performed by ardent devotees of Mata Sharika. After Puja Prasad was also served to present devotees. Bhajan and Kirtan was also performed by the devotees.
