JAMMU, Nov 25: A meeting was organised in Akhnoor town wherein Municipal Ward members, members of market associations, respectables of the areas and prominent business personalities participated.
The meeting was organised on the instance of Akhnoor Police led by SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial, SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar wherein EO Municipality Akhnoor Rajat Abrol, Inspector Kuljeet Singh from Traffic Department and others also participated.
During the meet, various market related issues where discussed. It was decided in the meeting that in order to address the issue of market encroachments, a joint committee of Municipal Ward members, officials of municipality, police and civil administration shall apprise the business establishments regarding illegal encroachments and to remove the same so that there will be adequate space for customers.
Moreover rehries shall be allowed in designated and notified zones only and no rehries without proper license shall be allowed.
While speaking, SDPO Akhnoor appealed to the participants to ensure that no vehicle is parked except for the designated places.
Besides above, issues related to narcotics smuggling and COVID SOPs were also discussed.
SDPO also appealed to the participants to ask people to adhere to COVID guidelines and share information regarding any drug peddler active in the area or otherwise.
The participants also appealed to the administration to start the ‘Gaushala’ being constructed by Akhnoor municipality on priority so that all the bovines can be shifted there for their safety and take care besides will help to address the issue of traffic management in the main town.
SDPO Varun Jandial and SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar also encouraged the participants to share information regarding any illegally activity in the area so that culprits can be booked under law.
In the end, participants assured police of all the help and assistance required at their end.
