Sharda Colony residents for widening of nallah

JAMMU, Aug 31: The residents of Sharda Colony, Patoli Brahmana have reiterated their demand of widening the nallah which has created havoc in the area during recent rains.
The inhabitants of the area including Nana Ji ex -Sarpanch and president Sharda Colony Sector 2, Sardari Lal Panch and Pran Nath Bhat said that the PWD authorities abandoned the work on the nallah after constructing it up to the Centre of the Sharda Colony.
They said that the width of the nallah is over one meter from up streams while it is not even one feet in down streams with the result when in spate the entire water gets logged at this place and it enters the surrounding houses and creates havoc. Some times the house hold goods get perished in the water which enters the rooms of residential houses in the area.
They said that despite the repeated pleas made to the concerned authorities they failed to take up the construction of the left out portion of the nallah in hand. In an appeal to Chief Engineer, PWD they sought his immediate intervention in the matter.
