Sharda Colony residents concern over bad condition of roads, power crisis

JAMMU, July 9: Inhabitants of Sharda Colony, Patoli Brahmana have expressed their grave concern over the power cuts, shortage of drinking water and bad condition of approach road and lanes in the area.
The delegation of residents led by president of the Colony, Umesh Talashi and Dr Ramesh Bhat met the PWD authorities here today and turned their attention towards the worst condition of road leading to the colony via Ranbir canal. They alleged that the Department has failed to renovate this road for many years and it has become a death trap as the road is presently it is in worst condition. The delegation said that other lands and by lanes in the area also need renovation as they are also in dilapidated condition.
Seeking immediate attention of PWD Chief Engineer towards the issue the delegation demanded that the roads and lanes be renovated immediately in the area.
Showing their concern over increasing power cuts the residents said that they are facing many hardships as electricity is playing hide and seek in this hot and humid Summer and demanded that the power supply be improved in the area as the colony is hundred percent metered and people pay hefty power tariff also.
They said that area faced acute scarcity of drinking water and despite the repeated pleas to the concerned authorities of the PHE from time to time they failed to look into the problem till date.
