JAMMU, May 2: Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, today released the annual Newsletter of Govt SPMR College of Commerce Jammu at the culmination of 7-days NSS special camp in the college.
The newly launched newsletter provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse activities conducted during the previous session, ranging from academics and co-curricular activities to achievements in the fields of NCC, NSS and Sports.
In his address, Shantmanu emphasized the crucial role of NSS in fostering social responsibility, community engagement, and personality development among the youth. He encouraged students to continue participating actively in nation-building activities.
Prof K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, highlighted the importance of experiential learning gained through NSS activities and its contribution to holistic education.
The event also witnessed the presence of Prof Ravinder Tickoo, Nodal Officer for Colleges in the Jammu Division; Prof Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College; Dr Geetanjali Rana, Principal, PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar; Prof Archana Koul, Principal MAM College Jammu and Prof Jyoti Parihar, Principal, GCOE Jammu.
Principal of SPMR College, Prof Rajinder Singh appreciated the NSS units of the college for the successful completion of the 7- day special camp.
The welcome address was followed by a detailed report on the seven day NSS camp conducted in the college read by Dr Deepak Pathania.
During the programme, certificates were distributed to the academically meritorious students of the previous session, exceptional achievers in sports, NCC and NSS activities, and participating NSS volunteers in the 7- day camp.
The programme was compeered by Dr Fayza, while the formal vote of thanks was given by Dr Deepshikha Sharma.
Among those present on the occasion included Dr Mohd Azam, Dr Reena Rani, Prof Rekha Gupta, Dr Chetna Gupta, Prof Monika Mahajan, Prof Sanjeev Verma, Dr Jagmeet Kour, Prof Shallu Gupta, Prof Binny Kumar, Dr Roomi Rani, Dr Madhu Bala, Ravi Kumar and others.
