BASOHLI (KATHUA), Apr 14: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control and chairman Election Campaign Committee, Sham Lal Sharma today addressed a largely attended public meeting at village Hatli in Basohli constituency and sought support for the Kathua-Udhampur candidate, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Ex-Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation and senior Congress leader, Ch Manmohan, Pankaj Dogra and retired SP Sardar Khan also accompanied the Minister.
Appealing the people to support the candidature of Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Parliament election, the Minister said that Azad has unblemished track record and is an experienced leader and people must vote for him ensuring his victory with huge margin. He said the UPA will again come in the power in Centre and Mr Azad will be Minister in the Centre, therefore, the people should support him overwhelmingly so that he continues to work for the welfare of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Saying that communal forces were trying to mislead the masses, the Minister asked the people to give befitting reply to such forces in the election. He said BJP has hatred agenda; their view point is to incite the sentiments of innocent masses in the name of religion, caste, creed, colour and regionalism. “Their role is totally negative and dismal in Jammu and Kashmir as they cannot become partner in the Government, thus supporting this party is a futile exercise and wasting the votes,” he explained.
Ch Manmohan, Pankaj Dogra, Sardar Khan and prominent leaders of the area also addressed the gathering and appealed people to support Ghulam Nabi Azad in the election.
