Sham Lal tours Ward 62, 66; addresses public concerns

JAMMU, Feb 4: MLA Jammu North Sham Lal Sharma conducted an extensive tour of Ward No 62 and 66, covering key areas from JDA Club, Upper Roopnagar to Lower Roopnagar and Muthi.
The MLA was accompanied by Pankaj Kumar Sharma (VC JDA), Akhil Dutt (XEn JMC Works), Satish Bhagat (XEn R&B East Division), Rajesh Sharma (XEn City Division 1 PHE), Vijay Manhas (XEn UEED) and Ravi Singh (AEE PDD).
During the visit, Sham Lal Sharma held a public darbar at JDA Colony Roopnagar, listening to grievances related to road connectivity, drainage, sewage management and street lighting. He directed officials to take immediate action and emphasized transforming JDA Colony into a model area by rectifying all deficiencies. He urged officials to ensure proper utilization of funds and adopt a holistic approach for transparent and efficient development.
Residents of JDA Colony demanded the restoration of the JDA Club, which was taken over by the IRP battalion during COVID-19. Taking serious note, Sharma assured that he would address the issue with concerned authorities and directed the VC JDA to expedite the resolution.
In Lower Roopnagar (Ward 66), Sharma instructed officials to construct a deep drainage system to prevent water logging and ensure efficient rainwater disposal. He also stressed proper canal maintenance, improved waste management, road repairs, and better street lighting for enhanced safety. Reiterating his commitment to development, he assured residents that all civic issues would be addressed.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma reaffirmed his dedication to uplifting Jammu North by ensuring access to essential services and infrastructure improvements. He urged all departments to work in coordination for a sustainable and citizen-friendly environment.
Among those present were Mandal president Muthi-Paloura Pankaj Padha, ex-Mandal president Suresh Sharma, ex-Corporator Ward 62 Rekha Manhas, ex-Corporator Ward 66 Tripta Devi and president JDA Club Roopnagar Uttam Deep Sharma, along with several local residents.
