RAJOURI, Oct 27: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary, today conducted an extensive tour of various remote and far off pockets of Rajouri district to assess the public issues besides inspecting the status of various ongoing development works in these areas.
During the tour, the Minister inspected Water Supply Schemes Praat and Saleri Athal and directed the Chief Engineer PHE to complete both the schemes within one month. He also instructed him for speedy completion of tendering work for Filteration Plant at Balshamaaa so that the work can be started on it at the earliest.
Sham Lal directed the Superintendent Engineer Irrigation to expedite the tendering process of Rajal Irrigation canal and ensure that the work is started on it at the earliest.
At Nowshera, the Minister inspected WSS Dabber Potha and WSS Chowki Langer and asked the concerned officers to further gear up their men and machinery for expeditious completion of these vital schemes. He also asked them not to compromise on qualitative and quantitative parameters in these works.
MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina was also present on the occasion.
Later, the Minister inspected Filteration Plant at Central Pumping Station Nowshera and directed for timely completion as delay in execution of any development work mars the real purpose of such vital programmes..
Meanwhile, the Minister had an overview of several public issues related to development and welfare of these far off areas and assured the people that the Government is taking up various result oriented and pragmatic programmes envisaging mitigation of their grievances. He also appealed the people to be an active participant in all development works being done in their respective areas so that effective implementation of Government schemes is ensured for larger interest of the society.
