‘Shakti’ aims at empowering grass-root workers: PCC chief

Cong launches campaign in J&K

KATRA, Jan 28: The Congress Party today launched ‘Shakti Project’ campaign to connect Congress workers at the grass-root level with Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
The `Shakti Project’ was today launched by PCC president GA Mir in presence of AICC coordinator and resource person Ankush Singh in “one day workshop” held at Holy Township of Katra. Senior functionaries of the party, former ministers and legislators, besides coordinators of booths, blocks and districts level were present.
The project is the brain child of AICC president Rahul Gandhi, to reach out to the Congress workers at grass- root level and to get feedback on various important aspects from them, which highly benefitted the party in the recently held elections in five states.
Addressing the gathering PCC chief said that the aim of Shakti platform is to empower the Congress workers at the grass-root level so that they can directly connect and send their views and suggestions on any matter to the Congress high command. In this way, the Congress workers shall be involved in decision making process of the party. He asked the party leaders and coordinators of different Assembly constituencies to launch a vigorous campaign to encourage the Congress workers to get themselves registered with “Shakti Project” on the dedicated digital numbers of AICC for J&K State bearing 8722189000. He said that by February maximum number of workers in J&K should get registered through SMS on this digital number mentioning their voter ID Card number.
AICC co-ordinator in his address highlighted the importance of this Project and emphasized that it was the desire of Congress president to ensure that all Congress workers should get registered with `Shakti Project’ for communication of various kinds of information from top to bottom and bottom to top in the party.

S. Manjeet Singh, Naresh Gupta, Subash Gupta, Sham Lal Bhagat, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Subhash Bhagat, Hari Singh Chib, Ch Abdul Ghani, Uday Bhanu Chib, Iftikhar Ahmed, Neeraj Kundan and Aijaz Choudhary.
