SURANKOTE, Nov 11: JKPCC general secretary and DDC Member from Surankote- A block, Shahnawaz Choudhary inaugurated 6 km link road from Higher Secondary School Hari to Rajara here today in presence of Executive Engineer R&B Poonch, Harvinder Singh, AEE Surankote Vikas Bhardawaj, other department officials and dignitaries of the area.
A large number of people from the adjoining villages witnessed the occasion and garlanded DDC Mem ber, distributed sweets and extended gratitude to him for fulfilling the long pending demand.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahnawaz said that this area was completely neglected in respect of development from last 70 years and people were suffering due to non- connectivity with road. He said that in this backward area road connectivity is lifeline for locals and directly influence life of common people residing in rural area. People living in this area deserve to live good life. Shahnawaz said that he was committed for the upliftment of the people of his area.
Congress leader further said that road connectivity is top priority and from the very first day he tried every possible effort after assuming office of DDC Member and that’s the reason that long pending demand of people of this area is getting fulfilled today. He added that he has taken up several projects in his constituency in record time of one and half year, which were not done in last 70 years. He assured of every possible assistance to public gathering.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Sarpanch Haji Javed Ahmed, Sarpanch Sikander Noorani, Sarpanch Waheed Shah, Retd ZEO Mumtaz Hussain, Retd SP Haq Nawaz, Retd ZEO Niaz Ahmed, Irshad Qazi, Molvi Javed, Haji Ashraf, Youth leaders Sikander Hayat, Asif Bajar, Yaseen Khawaja and Anjum Hamdani.
