Shahid suffers mild heart attack

JAMMU, May 19: Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, a senior IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir and native of Rajouri who was presently working as Jammu division Incharge for COVID mitigation efforts, suffered mild heart attack last night and his condition is presently stable.
Choudhary, a 2009 batch IAS officer is posted as Administrative Secretary Tribal Welfare and is also holding charge of CEO Mission Youth and Mission Director Skill Development.
He developed acute chest pain late last night and was immediately attended upon by Dr Nasir Ali Choudhary.
“ECG was done immediately which had Ischemic changes in RCA territory. Cardio biomarkers were also down which showed elevation in cardiac troponins,” Dr Choudhary said, adding angiography was done at him in the middle of night, which showed recanalized RCA.
After stabilization, Choudhary was shifted to Intensive Care Unit of Ankur Maitrika hospital for cardiac monitoring. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital within next couple of days.
