BANIHAL, Jan 5: National Conference leader and district Secretary, Ramban, Mir Sajjad Shaheen, visited remote areas of the tehsil here today and took stock of the problems caused due to recent heavy snowfall in the area.
A number of deputations and individuals met Shaheen and informed him about the shortage of essential commodities like sugar, kerosene oil, rice, etc in the area. They also complained about the non- availability of basic amenities related to drinking water, electricity, proper health care and road connectivity.
People also informed him that major link roads including Neel, Pogal, Maligam and Senabati, have been blocked due to heavy snow fall and the villages have been cut off from city, which has multiplied the problems of the people living in these areas.
Shaheen assured the people that their demands will be brought to the notice of the Government and the concerned authorities for immediate redressal.
