BANIHAL, Apr 19: Taking stock of problems being faced by people of Banihal Constituency after heavy rains and flood, National Conference (NC) leader Sajjad Shaheen today said nearly a month has passed but no concrete step has been taken to restore the damaged roads that include Khari-Mahu road and Shalgari-Panchal road which have terribly affected mobility and movement of passenger goods.
Sajjad said this during an extensive tour of tehsil Khari where he met scores of people and enquired about their day to day problems. Shaheen expressed grave concern over sinking of land in several villages of the Banihal Assembly Constituency in the wake of recent rains.
He said though the people are suffering, nobody from the administration has found it appropriate to visit them or to take necessary steps to mitigate their problems.
Shaheen criticized the PDP-BJP Government headed by CM Mufti Mohd Sayeed for step-motherly treatment with the people of Chenab Valley especially Banihal Constituency.
The NC leader urged the administration to look into the problems of people without losing time.
