BANIHAL, May 31: National Conference (NC) district president for Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen, has expressed serious concern over scarcity of essential commodities, especially rations at the sale outlets of the CAPD Department, in Ramban district, saying the PDP-BJP Government is showing complete apathy towards the people.
While interacting with youth workers who joined NC in the party office at Banihal, Shaheen said that ration scarcity and defunct utility services are posing enormous problems to the people of entire Ramban district, especially the Banihal Assembly Constituency. He said the deplorable scenario calls for immediate redressal measures.
Shaheen urged the Government to demonstrate its presence, as the political dispensation has lost grit to govern and ensure adequate supplies of essentials particularly ration, sugar and kerosene during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said the administration must look into the inadequacy and take early appropriate measures in replenishing supplies wherever there is scarcity. He also called for regulated supply of power and drinking water.
The district president lambasted the PDP-BJP Government for failure on all fronts and abdicating its responsibilities towards the people of the State. He cautioned against testing the patience of the people who feel betrayed by misgovernance and lack of accountability.
In the prevailing situation, NC cannot afford to remain a mute spectator, as far as provision of minimum basics to the people is concerned, he said and wondered over denial of sugar and kerosene to the consumers for months together.
