Shaheen expresses concern over erratic power supply

RAMBAN, Mar 3: National Conference (NC) district president, Sajjad Shaheen today expressed grave concern over erratic power supply in far-off areas of the Banihal Assembly constituency due to damaged transformers that have not been set right for weeks together.
During his extensive visit to Neel area, Shaheen, while interacting with the people, decried the neglect of the area by PDP-BJP dispensation, saying due to misrepresentation administration was ignoring the constituency. He sought immediate repairs to the transformers and restoration of power.
Shaheen visited several villages and during interaction the people complained about scarcity of drinking water for several weeks. He said the road network is also in a dilapidated condition that has impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people. He particularly referred to the bad shape of the Chamalwas – Neel road, saying no effort is being made to restore it.
The NC district president said that landslides have also triggered at various places, which crave for restoration. He urged the R&B Department for taking up restoration works on immediate bases.
Shaheen also drew the attention of the Government towards deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the health institutions.
He said complaints about defunct utility services have also been received from Khari-Trigam-Mahoo, Pogal -Paristan, Sumar, Sarachi, Amkote-Thachi, Hijhal, Nowgam, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Phagow, Maligam Chaknarwah and other areas.
Block presidents, Ghulam Rasool Deng and Mohd Khalil Sohil, former Sarpanch, Abdul Qayoom Bohroo, Youth district joint secretary, Mohd Ashraf Koka, Halqa president, Mohd Mamtaz Malik, Ch Gulam Hussain and Mohd Ayoub also accompanied the district president during his tour.
