Shaheen calls on LG, demands rehabilitation of migrants

SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Janata Dal United (JD) Jammu and Kashmir, president, G.M. Shaheen, called on Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha here on Tuesday and held a detailed discussion on several critical public issues concerning the people of Jammu & Kashmir with him.
During the meeting, Shaheen strongly demanded the immediate rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants and full implementation of the Prime Minister’s employment package, stressing that these long-pending commitments must be fulfilled in both letter and spirit.
Shaheen also pressed for age relaxation for JKPS aspirants, stating that thousands of deserving youth have suffered due to years of unrest and administrative delays. He asserted that the Government must show compassion and ensure fair opportunity for all aspirants.
Highlighting the plight of farmers, Shaheen demanded the waiver of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans, noting that the farming community continues to face severe economic distress due to repeated losses and poor market support.
Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing and assured that the administration would take up the matters seriously and initiate necessary action to resolve these pressing concerns.
While highlighting the demands of PM package employees, Shaheen demanded implementation of SRO 43 on package employees, immediate amendment of Order No 34 JK DMRRR 2022 to align with the original absorption policy, grade pay revision, Risk Allowance and enhanced educational benefits to package employees, expedited completion of transit accommodations and mandatory Rs one crore life insurance coverage, better leave policy and welfare measures for their families and elderly persons.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Jammu Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum also called on Lt. Governor.
