URI, Nov 27: Asking people to see through the motives of the `political tourists’ who come to Uri for grabbing votes and power, senior Congress leader and Minister for Health and Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din has said that his dream is to make the town as one of the developed urban centres of the State.
Addressing public meetings at Uroosa and Gawalta in Uri segment today, Taj said the town has seen phenomenal growth of social infrastructure during the last 12 years. He challenged NC leader Mohd Shafi Uri to show what development he had undertaken during his 40 years of power except the road to his own home at Garkote.
Describing his opponents and political tourists, Health Minister alleged that they come to Uri only during election time to ask for votes but remain away during the time the place and locals need them. Taj vowed to develop Uri as model town of the State where the best facilities would be available. He said Uri is close to him and his heart beats for the people of the area.
Taj claimed that Congress is the party which can ensure better development in all the regions of the State while others are hell bent to divide people on communal and regional lines. He appealed the people to vote for him for seeking better development in the area.
