SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Minister for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan visited Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Dhobiwan Tangmarg. He was accompanied by Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman and Mission Director NRHM J&K, Dr. Yashpal Sharma. The Minister was apprised of the activities being conducted at the Institute by Director Health Services Kashmir where ERTC/BLS and Sim Mom (Gyn/Obs) trainings were being imparted to the Medical Officers and Lady Medical Officers besides paramedics by trainers. On the occasion, Minister said that such trainings are of utmost importance in saving lives besides have a pivotal role for betterment of patient care and sustenance of life together. He further said that such trainings are essential component of health care delivery system to reduce mortality rate and enhance skill of paramedics at grass root levels.
The Minister inaugurated Kashmir Skills and Simulation Laboratory (KS&SL) and also Public Health Museum at the Institute.
Mr. Shabir while giving brief on budgetary provision said that budget under NRHM has been doubled upto Rs. 424 crore which also is an achievement for managing better patient care facilities especially at far flung areas. He further said that 200 ambulances and 675 sub centres will be soon in place for improving the infrastructure and patient care in health sector of the State.
