RAJOURI, Sept 6: Minister of State for Transport, PDD, CAPD and Forest today donated two vehicles for garbage disposal and spray purposes to Municipal Committee, Rajouri.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that improvement of infrastructure in urban areas is the priority of the Government, adding that these vehicles would help in lifting garbage and cleanliness in the Rajouri town . He said work on several urban infrastructure have been taken up and instructed Municipal Authorities to redouble their efforts so that these works could be completed well in time.
He said that an amount of Rs 2 crore has been incurred on construction of lanes and drains so for in the town. The Minister said that like other towns of the State the power infrastructure of Rajouri town is also being improved and augmented under RAPDRP.
He said that urban infrastructure in other towns of the district are being also upgraded, adding that Government is keen to transfer the powers to the people at grass root level for all-round development. He said that Government has already conducted successful panchayat elections and would soon conduct municipal elections in the State.
