SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Thousands of people are observing night long prayers in Masjids and shrines across Kashmir on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
The largest congregation is going on at Hazratbal Shrine, where worshippers in thousands have gathered to mark the occasion.
Many Muslims believers said, Shab-e-Barat is a time when “Allah records destinies and showers His mercy upon those who seek forgiveness.”
Devotees engage in Quranic recitations and supplications, praying for peace and prosperity.
At Hazratbal Srinagar and other major shrines, authorities have made elaborate arrangements to facilitate worshippers. “Security personnel have been deployed, sanitation teams have worked through the night, and lighting arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth observance of the occasion,” said an official from the Waqf Board.
Meanwhile, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar said, the closure of Jama Masjid Srinagar for Shab-e-Barat observance is very disappointing.
