*Awards degrees to students on 7th convocation

GURUGRAM, Mar 5: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that SGT University has emerged as one of the biggest institutions in a short span of time.
Khattar was speaking on 7th convocation ceremony of SGT University, where he was invited as chief guest. Bestowing the degrees to the students, the CM appreciated the SGT University for its academic contribution. Total 1142 students were awarded their degrees in three-day long convocation ceremony.
Prof Dheeraj P Sharma, Director IIM Rohatak was the guest of honour on the first day of convocation. 177 students on the first day of convocation, 490 students on the second day and 470 students of PhD, PG and UG courses on the third day of convocation were awarded their degrees including 49 medals.
Dr Basavraj Patil Sedam and Dr Chandra Shekhar Pran were also conferred the degree of Doctor of Letters (Honouris Causa). The convocation started with the opening declaration of Chancellor Ram Bahadur Rai. VC Prof Gurpreet Singh Tuteja presented the welcome address. The academic procession was led by the Registrar of the University, N N Gupta. The University Souvenir was also released on this occasion.
On the second day of the convocation ceremony, Alok Nigam, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana, Medical Education and Research Department was the chief guest of the event. The guest of honour, was Prof Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM Ranchi.
On the third day of the convocation, Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education was the chief guest and the guest of honour was Prof Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Raipur.
Dr Shubhangi Gupta won the late Champa Devi Memorial Gold Medal Award for the best MBBS graduate, instituted by Dr Rakesh Kumar, Chief Advisor to UNDP India and Advisor to CM of Uttarakhand, in the year 2019.
On the occasion, the chairperson Madhupreet Kaur Chawla, the Managing Trustee of Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust, Manmohan Singh Chawla, Pro Chancellor Dr Shamlal Singla, CEO Prof S R Musanna and other dignitaries were also present.
