UDHAMPUR, Apr 27: The necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of upcoming 616th “Parkash Utsav” of Saint Kabir Sahib at Kabir Bhawan, were discussed by all tehsil and block level presidents of Sat Guru Kabir Sabha (SGKS) in a meeting here today.
During the meeting, which was chaired by chairman, Sat Guru Kabir Sabha Udhampur, Ved Parkash, threadbare discussions were held with regard to various arrangements for the ensuing Kabir Jyanti celebration which include maintaining law and order during procession, collection of donation, announcement of dates for celebration of Kabir Jayanti at different places, etc.
Briefing about the various arrangements already put in place by the Kabir Sabha for the successful conduct of Kabir Jayanti, the chairman said that SGKS Udhampur is going to celebrate 616th “Parkash Utsav” of Saint Kabir Sahib on June 15, 2014 at Kabir Bhawan, Baryal, near Air Force Station Udhampur.
He further said that Kabir Sabha would also celebrate  “Parkash Utsav” of Saint Kabir Sahib at tehsil and block level in the district on different dates. He disclosed that Parkash Utsav of Kabir Ji would be celebrated in village Kasuri on June 13, village Mali in Panchari Block on June 22 and Mutal on July 13, 2014.
“A Shobha Yatra will also be taken out on the occasion which will pass through Venus Chowk, Salan Talab, Chabutra Bazaar, Dabar Chowk, Mukherjee Bazaar, Ramnagar Chowk, Slathia Chowk, Dhar Road, Kallar and Industrial Estate, and finally culminate at Kabir Bhawan, Baryal, where rich tributes will be paid to the Great Spiritual Saint.
General secretary SGKS, Udhampur, Durga Dass, issued necessary instructions to all the functionaries of the Sabha to make necessary arrangements well before the Kabir Jayanti celebration.
Later, President of the Sabha, Ram Lal informed that Sabha is going to honour the meritorious students who excel in academic and professional examination.
