RAJOURI, May 10: A sexually assaulted girl belonging to poor family allegedly made suicide bid on her life in Kalakote area of district Rajouri this evening.
The girl, identified as Nisha (name changed), daughter of one Koushal Kumar of village Potha near Saranoo village is struggling for life in Rajouri hospital. She was referred to District Hospital Rajouri from CHC Kalakote at around 7.15 pm. The victim told her mother Babli Devi that she was rapped by one Sanjeev Kumar, son of Mulakh Raj of the same village some time back. The victim also shown bite marks on her private parts to the mother. She alleged that accused threatened her to kill her and his father if she opened mouth. She claimed that under such circumstances she chose to commit suicide as after some months she will not be able to show her face to anybody.
Then family members informed Saranoo police and lodged a report. The girl was provided preliminary treatment at Kalakote hospital and then referred to Rajouri hospital. She was struggling for life there. The doctors were planning to refer her to GMC Jammu when the last reports reached this office.
