AKHNOOR, Nov 15, Police in Akhnoor sub-division today launched a special drive against traffic violations and overloading.
The drive was aimed to target overloading and overspeeding beside other traffic violations.
During this drive which was led by SHO Akhnoor Harjeet Singh and SHO Khour Rattan Rana under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma, many vehicles were challaned and seized.
SDPO Mohan Sharma said that besides challaning violaters, police have registered two cases, case FIR no. 314/2022 under section 279/336 IPC and 194-A MV Act at Police Station Akhnoor ,and FIR no 84/2022 under Section 279/336 IPC at police station Khour, in which two vehicles minibus bearing no. JK02AQ/9693 and Auto bearing no, JK02BN/9580 have been seized and drivers have been arrested for overloading and thereby putting precious human lives at risks.
He appealed to the people to follow traffic rules and assure more strict actions shall be initiated in days to come to save the precious human lives .
