Several refugee groups to support Congress

JAMMU, Apr 4: Madan Lal Sharma, Congress-National Conference coalition candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency today conducted a road show at Chinore, Bantalab, Raipur, Kot, Purkhoo, Garhi, Kangrail, Karwanda Bhalwal, Seri Panditan in Raipur Domana constituency and sought vote in his favour.
Addressing a delegation of refugees this morning, who informed him about their support to him and Congress Party, Mr. Sharma said that Congress led UPA Government has provided many facilities to different categories of refugees for Central benefits including admission of their Children at various places.
He said that State coalition was actively considering & providing State Subjects to the West Pak refugees and has taken up with Govt of India for one time settlement of all pending issues of 1947, 65, 71 refugees.
Mr. Sharma informed the group that he has strongly raised the issues of refugees in the Parliament time and again as a result of which Parliamentary delegations had meeting with refugees. Senior officers and a group of Ministers from J&K met with Union Home Minister, Prime Minister, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi & Vice President AICC Rahul Gandhi and hoped that if he is sent back to Parliament, he will address it on top priority.
Ruling out any impact of Labha Ram Gandhi’s supporting BJP  Mr. Sharma said that refugees know who is their well-wisher and are personally connected to him and said that after this event various refugees’ delegations have met him and even on phone assured their full support .  He said that BJP is supported by big corporate houses and might had benefited Labha Ram Gandhi monetary leading to his retirement from the fray .  He said that it will have no affect on Congress refugee vote and said that Congress is the only party which can resolve the issues of refugees and even Congress had made a refugee Dr. Manmohan Singh the Prime Minister of India.  He said that decision on one time settlement for all kind of refugees in shape of package is almost matured and ensured its implementation on priority as soon as he reaches Parliament back.
Prominent among others who accompanied the MP throughout the road show includes Satpaul Lakhotra, (Ex. MLA), Uttam Singh, Shamsher Singh, Sarpanch Ranjit Singh Manhas, Bhopinder Singh, Jugal Mahajan, Munshi Ram and Raj Dev Singh.
