JAMMU, June 28: Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ detained several persons for running hukkabar without permission on Jammu-Srinagar national highway from Narwal to Sidhra.
As per police spokesman, a special exercise was conducted along the National Highway from Narwal to Sidhra in which police teams conducted raids at different restaurants and dhabas.
During the exercise, police party in civic noticed the illegal activities of consuming narcotics by customers and owners and also found that some dhabas were running hukkabar without any permission.
The material was seized for further necessary action and few people were also detained for carrying such narcotic substances activities.
The youngsters available there were sensitized about the drug menace and were advised to stay away from such illegal activities.
The whole exercise was conducted in the presence of SDPO City East Arun Jamwal, SDPO Nagrota Dr Amit Sharma and DySP Headquarters Jammu Sugandha Mahajan under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
