Seven girls, 11 boys to be conferred with National Bravery Awards

NEW DELHI, Jan 18: Altogether 18 children, including 7 girls, were selected for the National Bravery Awards 2017 by the Indian Council for Child Welfare on Thursday.

These fearless children have displayed characteristics of true soldiers of humanity with their acts of valor and not only save lives, but also fight against anti-social activities.

The bravery awards were given in five categories — Bharat Award, Sanjay Chopra Award, Geeta Chopra Award, Bapu Gaidhani Award and General National Bravery Awards. Nazia was chosen for ‘Bharat Award’; Netravati M Chavan (posthumously) from Karnataka with ‘Geeta Chopra Award’; Karanbeer Singh from Punjab with ‘Sanjay Chopra Award’; Betshwajohn Peinlang from Meghalaya, Mamata Dalai and Sebastian Vincent with the ‘Bapu Gaidhani’ award.
