Daksh Hostel celebrates Annual Day

RAJOURI, Apr 14: On completion of its one year of successful running of Daksh Hostel at Dassal, today an impressive function was organised by Seva Bharti at the hostel premises to celebrate its first anniversary.
BJP senior leader and MLC, Vibodh Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion and Rajiv Khajuria, (Member Selection cum Oversight Committee) and Pranav Gupta (DySP operations) were guest of honour. Daksh Hostel currently has 22 students from poor families of border belt. Sewa Bharti is taking care of these students by providing them all necessary facilities. Hostel is run on donations from general public and prominent citizens of Rajouri.
In the well organised function which was attended by around 300 persons, students of the hostel presented various cultural and literary items. The students also presented their annual report card on the progress made by them during last one year. It was reported that students excelled in all the fields including academics, sports and culture.
Speaking on the occasion MLC, Vibodh Gupta congratulated the whole team of Sewa Bharti for raising the infrastructure of hostel in short duration of time and making the hostel a model hostel of the region. He said that such initiatives only proves the fact that through voluntary service great missions can be achieved with support of common masses. He further added that he was highly impressed by the way the whole programme was conducted by the students of the hostel and by their remarkable achievements during the last one year.
He wished a bright future to the hostel and to the students and assured his full support in running the hostel. In his address Rajiv Khajuria also appreciated the management of hostel and congratulated them for putting up a model which is inspiration for other NGOs. He inspired the students and audience by many practical examples where in historic achievements were made only when there are such dedicated initiatives by the civil society and common man.
By referring to many past achievements Rajesh Banti, district president presented vote of thanks and apprised audience about different projects run by Sewa Bharti in Rajouri.
