JAMMU, Dec 8: Senior Kashmiri Pandit leader and socio –political activist, M K Yogi today appealed the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to settle the long standing issues of displaced Pandits from Valley.
In a statement issued here Yogi showed his concern that no steps are being taken by the Government for the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in Kashmir their ancestral land with which their sentiments and emotions are attached.
He said it is high time when Government both at Delhi and J&K should take a concrete step for the honorable and dignified rehabilitation of Pandits in Kashmir and ensure that there should be no migration in future.
He urged the LG to solve the basic problems of people in exile and constitute an Apex Committee of Kashmiri Pandits comprising of honest and dedicated members of community through elections so that they can project their problems before the Government.
Yogi demanded reservation of four Assembly constituencies and one Rajya Sabha seat for Kashmiri Pandits where they can elect their representatives. He made an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in this regard and said this will not only ensure the participation of the Pandits in elections but also provide them an opportunity to elect their true representatives.
