JAMMU, Aug 19: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded a National Pay Policy and setting up of a new Pay Commission which would cover both Central and State Government employees.
Addressing a workers’ rally here, NMC president Subash Shastri demanded wage revision of both Central and State Government employees saying the salaried class was facing a lot of economic hardships due to inflation.
He also demanded the merger of 50 percent DA of Government employees into their basics pay and pension at the earliest.
Shastri urged Prime Minister to announce the pending installment of 7 per cent DA due from July this year in favour of both Central and State Government employees.
During the rally, several resolutions were adopted including release of wages of motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization, timely release of wages of daily wagers, issuance of orders of 180 daily wagers, regularization of all daily wagers and contractual labourer, etc.
Among others present were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Rakesh Padha, Ashok Khajuria, Anil Singh Slathia, Surinder Kumar, etc.
