Jammu, Apr 17: Reiterating his commitment to serve the people with dedication and devotion, newly nominated Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vikramaditya Singh today said that he has joined politics with only aim to minimum sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“For me politics is the best mean to reach to the common masses to serve them with dedication”, he said while addressing a function which was organized by the party to felicitate him on his nomination as MLC.
“As MLC I will work to mitigate miseries of the common masses”, he said and announced he will start touring different areas to meet people to solve their problems. Vikramaditya Singh said that Jammu region has huge potential of tourism. “Our Government is committed to develop Jammu as independent tourist destination”, he said and announced that in the recently held conference of tourist operators he had raised the issue of developing Jammu Airport up to international standard.
“Airport is entry point of Jammu city so there is a need to develop this airport”, he said and pointed out the issues raised by him incorporated in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the Coalition Government.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary of party, Daman Bhasin appreciated party leadership for nominating a visionary leader Vikramaditya Singh as MLC.
