UDHAMPUR, Apr 29: The Attestation-cum-Passing out Parade of 8 Probationer DySPs and 31 PSIs, including 3 women officers was held today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, here.
The chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, inspected and took the salute at the impressive parade from the passing out trainee officers , which was followed by the oath ceremony.
Minister of State for Finance Pawan Gupta was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Addressing the parade, Dr. Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has rendered a commendable service for the decades in dealing with the serious challenges of militancy and law and order in the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Passing out Parade is an important occasion in the life of a trainee as it is the culmination of very hard work put in by the trainees and the training staff.
He said that it was a proud day for all those who get into the portals of the service which they have joined. He asked the J&K Police to make honesty, integrity, accountability, transparency, protection of human rights and service to the people as its bench mark to come up as model police force.
Dr. Nirmal Singh asked the pass outs to make their attitude people friendly while enforcing law and order and ensure that the common people are not put to any inconvenience.
Director General of Police K. Rajendra impressed upon them to work with honesty and dedication to come up to the expectations of people and the police organization.
He lauded the role of JKP in fighting with militancy and bringing back the normalcy in the State after numerous sacrifices. He said that during their basic training course they were put to training in different areas of policing like investigation skills, crime control, weaponry, terrorism and counter action, information technology and disaster management etc.
The function was attended by MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat, ADDC Ajay Singh Jamwal, and large number of senior police officers including ADGs of Police SP Vaid and Dilbagh Singh, Director SKPA Rajesh Kumar, IGPs A.G Mir, Dansh Rana, Yoginder Koul, H.K Lohia, MS Salaria, MA Khan, Mukesh Singh, SL Sharma, S A Watali, JP Singh. Besides, prominent citizens, family members of the trainee officers and other invited guests attended the function.
In the welcome address, Director SKPA Udhampur gave detail of various components of training imparted to the passing out trainee officers.
Deputy Chief Minister gave away prizes to the best adjudged trainee officers. Dr. Azhar Rashid, Prob . DySP received appreciation letter and sword of honour besides DGP’s trophy and memento for being for all round best and best in indoor during the training. Prob DySP Dr. Mohammad Idrees Wani was awarded Director’s Trophy and memento for best in outdoor training respectively. Prob . DySP Parupkar Singh was also awarded with the Trikuta Cup and memento for Best Marks during the training.
Similarly Anjali Sharma, Prob. SI was awarded with Appreciation letter and Baton of honour, while Prob. SIs Shehbaj and Himanshu Dutta were awarded with Trophies and Mementoes for the all round best and in and outdoor training.
Dr. Singh, MoS Finance and DGP were presented mementos as a memorabilia for their visit to the Academy.
