SRINAGAR, Aug 1:One more woman died in last week’s mysterious tourist bus blast taking the death toll to 4 while militants carried out serial grenade blasts across Kashmir since last night in which a Sarpanch escaped unhurt.
Police today said that a woman, Indu Parmar wife of Mahinder Parmar resident of London United Kingdom succumbed to her injuries at SKIMS Soura, hospital in Srinagar last evening.
Police said that body of deceased was kept in mortuary of SKIMS Soura Srinagar for further disposal. It may be mentioned here that 3 tourists were killed and 5 including Parmar were injured in a mysterious blast at Bijbehara in South Kashmir last week.
The victims were traveling in a tempo traveler bearing registration number JK02AP/0676 and were on their way to Srinagar from tourist resort of Pahalgam. Three women identified as Neesha Jeetwah wife of Anil Jeetwah, Nirmala Rathore wife of Jai Raj and Indu Bhae of Mumbai died while Parmar along with 5 others were injured and were under treatment in SKIMS hospital.
A Police spokesman said here that it was cylinder blast that took place inside the vehicle. But the injured and driver of the vehicle disputed police claim saying that two motorcyclists threw a grenade inside the bus. The doctors attending them also confirmed the splinter injuries.
In the meantime, police said that militants lobbed a grenade in the residential house of a Sarpanch, Mohammad Rustum Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Nagri in the frontier district of Kupwara last night. The grenade exploded inside the compound causing damages to glass panes of the house. However, no one was injured in the attack.
Militants this afternoon also lobbed a grenade on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Chanpora Srinagar. The grenade exploded inside the camp without causing any damage. CRPF immediately came out and launched searches for the militants who carried out the attack.
Since last night militants carried out four grenade attacks across Kashmir in which one police man was injured. Last night, a Police constable was injured in Sopore when militants hurled a hand grenade at Iqbal Market in Sopore. They also lobbed a grenade at Police Station Sopore without causing any injury.
