MUMBAI, Dec 16: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) slipped today by 48 points to 20,667.02 in the opening trade
as selling pressure was seen in FMCG, Auto and Metal stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE), was down by 16 points to 6,152.90.
The sectoral indices like FMCG, Auto and Metal drifted lower in
the opening trade, while Health Care, Technology, Realty and Bankex
rose, which capped from further losses, broker said.
The losers were Jindal Steel by 2.83 pc to Rs 252.40, Hindalco Industries by 1.89 pc to Rs 116.50, Tata Steel by 1.66 pc to Rs 408.50 and Hero MotoCorp by 1.15 pc to Rs 2041.10.
The gainers were Infosys by 1.96 pc to Rs 3439.85, L & T by 0.85
pc to Rs 1058.40, ICICI Bank by 0.80 pc to Rs 1094.15 and SSLT by 0.73 pc to Rs 193.20.
