SRINAGAR, Sept 1: Calling for ensuring sense of security among people, Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir today said security sense among people further leads to improvements in other parameters of life including improvement in standards of life.
Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone of Middle School building at Agrikalan Tangmarg, the Minister said raising the living standards of people would ensure that poverty is minimized and the number of poor in the society decreases. He said the aim should be to free people from exploitation, be it political, economic, social or of any other kind.
Mr. Mir said an exploitation free system should be our ultimate goal where everyone should have a free choice of what he or she intends to do. He said education is one of the core elements which ensure this transformation.
The Minister termed education is the total way of life and a tool which enables students to face challenges in their future life. He called upon the teaching community to rededicate themselves to the noble cause of enlightening the students with quality and result oriented education so that they could prove their mettle at national and international level. He also urged for inculcating moral education among themselves which he said is the need of the hour.
Mr. Mir said that the Government has taken a series of revolutionary measures to bring substantial and much needed improvement to fine-tune the educational set up in the state, keeping in view modern technological and scientific requirements of the students.
The school is spread over 15 kanals of land. The up-coming school building consists of three rooms, lavatory block, and a kitchen and is being constructed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan which is expected to be completed within two months. An amount of Rs. 18.86 lakh would be utilized for construction of school building, four-walling, besides development of play-field for the school.
